1. Introduction

Welcome to Bahr. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use the Bahr mobile app, website, support channels, and related services.

Bahr is a luxury North Coast chalet rental platform for guests, property owners, and administrators. If you do not agree with this policy, please stop using the platform and contact us if you need help deleting your account.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Bahr, we may collect these categories of information:

  • Account data: Name, phone number, email address, password credentials handled by Firebase Authentication, profile image, language preference, and account role.
  • Authentication data: Phone/SMS verification data, Google sign-in data, Apple sign-in data, login timestamps, and fraud prevention signals.
  • Identity verification data: ID document images or extracted text when you use OCR ID scanning for guest verification.
  • Booking data: Chalet, destination, stay dates, guests, prices, selected add-on services, booking status, check-in instructions, cancellation records, and support notes.
  • Payment data: Payment method type, payment status, transaction references, and receipts. Bahr does not store full card numbers.
  • Communications: In-app chat messages, support requests, WhatsApp support messages, phone support details, and notification preferences.
  • Location and map data: Property locations and general search or destination preferences. Precise user location is only used if you grant permission.
  • Device and usage data: Device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, diagnostics, notification tokens, session events, analytics, and app integrity signals.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to operate Bahr and provide a secure, useful rental experience:

  • Create, verify, and manage user accounts.
  • Show available chalets, destinations, maps, dates, pricing, discounts, and checkout options.
  • Process bookings, add-on services, payment status, refunds, and reservation updates.
  • Enable support chat, owner coordination, check-in communication, and service fulfillment.
  • Send transactional notifications, booking reminders, support messages, and optional promotional updates.
  • Improve performance, fix crashes, measure conversion funnels, and understand feature usage.
  • Protect Bahr, users, owners, and payment flows from fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security threats.
  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, and regulatory obligations.

4. Third-Party Services

Bahr relies on service providers that process data on our behalf or help complete requested transactions. These services may include:

  • Firebase: Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config, and App Check.
  • Google services: Google sign-in, Google Maps, and Google ML Kit text recognition.
  • Apple services: Sign in with Apple and iOS platform services.
  • Payment providers: Paymob, card processors, bank transfer providers, wallet providers, InstaPay, and related payment partners.
  • Communication providers: Email, phone, WhatsApp links, push notifications, and customer support tooling.

We require service providers to use data only for the services they provide to Bahr, and we do not sell personal data.

5. Sharing Information

We share information only when needed to provide the platform, complete bookings, protect users, or comply with obligations:

  • Property owners and managers: Confirmed booking details, guest contact information, stay dates, and check-in coordination details.
  • Service providers: Cloud infrastructure, payments, analytics, crash reporting, maps, verification, and support providers.
  • Legal and safety parties: Courts, regulators, law enforcement, or affected parties when required by law or needed to protect rights and safety.
  • Business transfers: Relevant data may transfer if Bahr is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or asset sale.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide Bahr, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, accounting, and booking record requirements. Booking, payment, and support records may be retained after account deletion where required for financial, legal, fraud prevention, or dispute purposes.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards including HTTPS/TLS, Firebase Authentication, role-based access control, Firestore security rules, Firebase App Check, access monitoring, and limited administrative permissions. No internet service can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we work to protect data from unauthorized access and misuse.

8. Your Choices And Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, export, or restriction of your personal information where applicable. You can also control app permissions such as notifications, photos, camera, and location from your device settings.

9. Account Deletion

You can request account deletion through in-app support or by emailing privacy@bahr.ltd. Include the phone number or email connected to your account so we can verify ownership.

We aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days, unless we must retain limited records for completed bookings, payments, fraud prevention, legal compliance, accounting, dispute resolution, or platform security.

10. Children's Privacy

Bahr is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended for users under 18 to make bookings. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

11. International Processing

Bahr is operated from Egypt and may use cloud providers that process information in other countries. Where data is transferred internationally, we use safeguards appropriate to the service and legal requirements.

12. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our app, legal obligations, or data practices change. Significant changes may be communicated in the app, by email, or on this website.
